Buying your first Digital Camera

The Pasquotank Arts Council Photography Club is giving a mini-workshop on buying a Point & Shoot digital camera. Free and open to the public.

Thursday, 6 Dec, 7:30 pm at the gallery, 609 East Main Street, Elizabeth City, NC.

We will talk about how to compare cameras, what features to look for, memory cards and batteries. After the talk we will have a question and answer secession.

Make-and-Take an Evergreen at Port Discover in December

Elizabeth City, NC — What makes a Christmas evergreen tree, ever-green? Stop in Port Discover for the December Make-It-Take-It and learn about this favorite “coniferous” holiday tree and take home your own evergreen tree creation. The activity is available during the hours Port Discover is open, Tuesday – Saturday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Make-It-Take-Its are free, thanks to a grant from the City of Elizabeth City.

Port Discover is located at 613 East Main Street. Port Discover’s hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Programs can be arranged at other times for special groups. For more information call 252-338-6117 or visit www.portdiscover.org.

Port Discover is a community-based, non-profit organization, established to enhance the public’s understanding and enjoyment of science through engaging programs, activities, and exhibits. Elizabeth City State University along with the Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce initiated the project that has attracted broad community support, including Elizabeth City Morning Rotary, College of the Albemarle, Albemarle Hospital, Museum of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools. Port Discover is also a member of the NC Grassroots Science Museum Collaborative.

December 7, 14, 18-23 Friday evenings & the week before Christmas
Evening Jingle Bell Tours Downtown Elizabeth City
Begin at Culpepper Inn Carriage House, Half hour tour includes hot chocolate, blanket, photo and viewing of Main Street Christmas Lights to enjoy the holiday season. $25 per person, $45 per couple, $15 per child (age 3-12), 2 and under free, $75 for Private Carriage 2-6 persons. Advance reservations required.

Lunch with Santa at the Culpepper Inn,

Elizabeth City Music Club presents CHRISTMAS POTPOURRI

On Sunday, December 2, the Elizabeth City Music Club is pleased to present CHRISTMAS POTPOURRI, a concert featuring performances of seasonal music by area musicians and choirs.
