Come on out and join us for the celebration of EARTH 383's sixth birthday. LIVE MUSIC, COOK OUT, and HUGE SALE

The doors open at 10:00 am and every thing in the store is on sale. GRAPHIC NOVELS and MANGA but 2 get the third FREE. TOYS and T-SHIRTS $10.00. Back Issue Box sales $1.00 and issue or fill a long box $150.00. As long as supplies last there will be grab bags with randomly inserted tickets for door prizes. There will be a cook out and live music provided by FURTHER ADIEU starting at 1:00pm. Come dressed as your favorite hero or anime characters. Super Man will be attending.

IKeep the summer alive with music this Friday by BC at The City Wine Sellar. BC will keep your toes tapping with rock, reggae, blues, folk, and a few unique originals. You can usually hear BC playing with his band, The Dreadnecks, at such Outer Banks venues as The Brewing Station, Port O' Call, Chili Peppers and The Beach Bread Company. BC offers a CD of his band's tunes for only $10.00.

Check him out playing an original song (We are All One) in Kauai, Hawaii!

BC will play from 7-10 pm. Regular deli menu items served from 6-9 pm. Non-smoking inside venue. Smoking allowed in outside cafe.

Toddlers to "Observe Oceans" at Port Discover, August 21

Observing Oceans Planned for Port Discover’s Toddler Time, August 21

Elizabeth City, NC — “Observing Oceans” is the theme for Port Discover’s Toddler Time, August 21 at 10:00. Preschoolers will learn about the water cycle and salt water, discover a “magic floating egg”, and make and take home their own ocean in a bottle.

A fee of $5.00 per family and reservations are required. Program is for 3 – 5 year-olds and parents or guardians must accompany the child.

Port Discover is located at 613 East Main Street, Elizabeth City. Port Discover’s hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Programs can be arranged at other times for special groups. For more information call 252-338-6117 or www.PortDiscover.org.

Port Discover is a community-based, non-profit organization, established to enhance the public’s understanding and enjoyment of science through engaging programs, activities, and exhibits. Elizabeth City State University along with the Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce initiated the project that has attracted broad community support, including Elizabeth City Morning Rotary, College of the Albemarle, Albemarle Hospital, Museum of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools. Port Discover is also a member of the NC Grassroots Science Museum Collaborative.
