"Pre-Schooler Time"

“Pre-Schooler Time”

The Museum of the Albemarle will hold “Pre-Schooler Time” on Thursday, December 11, 2008 from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. Participants must be between the ages of 3 to 5 years old and must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-Schoolers will discover how Christmas tree lights have evolved over the years, read a story and participate in a creative activity.

The Museum of the Albemarle is located at 501 South Water Street, Elizabeth City, NC. (252)335-1453. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Sunday, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Closed Mondays and State Holidays. Serving Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell, and Washington counties, the museum is the northeast regional history museum of the North Carolina Division of State History Museums. The Museum of the Albemarle will hold "History Tales: Make It, Take It" on Wednesday, December 17, 2008, from 3:30 pm until 4:30 pm. Elementary students accompanied by an adult will discover how Christmas tree lights evolved over the years, read a story and participate in a creative activity.

Spirit of Freedom a.k.a. " The Candy Bomber" Open to the Public

Great holiday activity for the family. FREE Tours of the "Spirit of Freedom"! On Saturday, December 13th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Elizabeth City Regional Airport. The “Spirit of Freedom” is a restored 1945 Douglas C-54 transport featuring a museum commemorating the Berlin Airlift. Free T-shirts for kids while they last! At 1:00 p.m., the aircraft will reenact a “Candy bomber” flight dropping candy bars under parachutes. (Candy donated by The Chocolate House) FMI call 252-335-5634 or visit www.spiritoffreedom.org

Thursday December 18th - 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm - Holiday Poetry - lets read some Holiday poems - also come share your poems - If you would like to be featured, call the store. Its a great night out to share your poems or enjoy listening to others.

Knitting Group & Crocheting Group - this is open to any craft with YARN - Tuesday First and Third Tuesday of each month - 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Come join the fun and learn/continue your projects!!
