Elizabeth City, NC — Port Discover offers an exploration of the solar system as part of the Second Saturday Science program, Spectacular Solar System, set for Saturday, May 10 at Port Discover. How big are the planets and the sun? What are some theories about the how the solar system began? Billy Younger, instructor of Mathematics & Physics at the College of the Albemarle, will lead the program. Second Saturday Science is free, thanks to the program sponsor, Gateway Bank. Reservations are required. Programs are scheduled for 9:30 am and 11:00 am. Second Saturday Science programs are geared toward elementary school aged children. Port Discover is a community-based, non-profit organization, established to enhance the public’s understanding and enjoyment of science through engaging programs, activities, and exhibits.
