Page After Page Bookstore Monthly Update

News from the Page After Page Bookstore -

Our For the Love of Books Literary event was a great success - a wonderful time was had by all the authors and guests - thank you for your support and participation - We have signed stock left on all the authors books - drop by and see our display - We also have the cute For the Love of Books tote bags on sale as well.

A special thanks to Rosie Hale who was wonderful at face painting for the kids as well as some of the adults during the festival.

We have a display of recommended beach reads for your summer pleasure - wish we were there - seems many reading Nights in Rodanthe before the movie comes out in September !!! Great romantic read by one of our favorites Nicolas Sparks.

Saturday July 19th, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm - Judy Moody Day!! A celebration of the hilarious, award-winning Judy Moody Series by Megan McDonald. Join in our Judy Moody Treasure Hunt and activities.

Saturday July 26th, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm - Pirate Event!!! Come be a pirate at our swashbuckling event. You’ll have tons of fun reading like a pirate and doing pirate activities.

Thursday July 31st, 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm - Princess Party!! Come learn all about being a Princess!! We will read stories, have refreshments and make your very own tiara!! Don’t forget to dress as your favorite princess!

Saturday August 9th, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm - Train Event!! All aboard the Page After Page Train - join our conductor as you journey on a train through books. Activities include reading, crafts, tons of fun and a snack.

Pre-registration is required. Each children event is $5.00.

Thursday August 14th, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm - Author Signing - The Great Hurricanes of North Carolina by John Hairr's. Mr Hairr will be on hand to discuss and sign his latest book - the history of Hurricanes in NC from 1775 to present day. (just in time for our season!!)

Friday August 15th, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm - Author Signing - Buying Time for Heritage: How to Save an Engangered Historic Property by Myrick Howard - Mr Howard will be on hand to discuss and sign his latest book about saving the endangered properties and encouragement of downtown revitalization projects.

Open Poetry Nite:

Resuming on Thursday September 18th - 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm - Come share your poems - If you would like to be featured, call the store. Its a great night out to share your poems or enjoy listening to others.

Knitting Group - Tuesday First and Third Tuesday of each month - 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Come join the fun and learn/continue your knitting projects!!
Writers Group - Tuesday August 12th at 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Reading Group - Thursday September 25th at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Our book choice is - Bless Me Ultima, by Rudolfo Anaya - this is a sponsored read with our local library - let us know if we can help you get the book.
