To Celebrate 25 Years of its Famous Rose Buddies, Elizabeth City to Dedicate Marker, Sept. 18
(Elizabeth City, N.C., Aug. 21, 2008) – For a quarter of a century, Elizabeth City’s famous Rose Buddies have welcomed boating visitors with fresh-cut roses and a wine-and-cheese party served by the water’s edge. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the volunteer welcome crew – and in memory of the boating enthusiasts who started the tradition – Elizabeth City officials will dedicate a special marker Sept. 18 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Mariners’ Wharf and Groupers Restaurant.
