Public meeting about proposed tree ordinance

The City of Elizabeth City is considering the adoption of a Tree Ordinance to establish procedures for the protection of the City’s tree canopy. Please join us for a public meeting in the 3rd Floor Conference Room of the A. P. Midgett Building, 302 East Colonial Avenue on Tuesday, September 30 at 6:00 pm to hear about the proposed ordinance and provide your input. We look forward to seeing you there!

Before the City votes to control the trimming of trees, it would be nice to see them vote to control and trim the budget in order to reduce the financial burden on residents through lower taxes and lower electric rates.

It would be nice to be known as a "Tree City" but it's just not that important right now.
