City of Elizabeth City's 2nd Annual Energy Fair 2008

Don't forget to check out...

The City of Elizabeth City and Elizabeth City State University Community Development Program cordially invites you to attend this year's Annual Energy Fair. The fair is a two day event and will be held at the Knobbs Creek Recreation Center, Friday, October 17, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm and Saturday, October 18, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. This year's theme for the fair is "Efficiency The New Fuel."

Also, on Friday, October 17th check out the 45 minute session that Proximity Hotel will be putting on at 12:00 pm (noon) at the Knobbs Creek Recreation Center. They will be discussing their hotel, how they built it to use 36% less energy and 30% less water than a comparable hotel, and more about eco-friendly efforts. In addition, they will be taking questions about how other hotels or restaurants can be more eco-friendly. So, please come to check it out!!

The purpose of the energy fair is to educate the community regarding the positive impact of energy conservation. Rising energy costs are a major concern for families and individuals alike. It is our desire, with your support, to provide the citizens of Elizabeth City and the surrounding communities with information, services, and home products directed towards improving the performance and efficiency of their homes, to include their home heating and cooling equipment. Thus, impacting their utility and maintenance costs on their new and existing homes.

Admission is free.

Chuck Hodges Friday Night at The City Wine Sellar (October 3rd)

Chuck Hodges Friday Night at The City Wine Sellar (October 3rd)

Host: Debbie Malenfant
Location: City Wine Sellar
102 Water Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 US
When: Friday, October 3, 7:00 pm
Phone: 252-335-1163

"Like an old friend you never knew you had, Chuck's music greets you with a familiarity that's almost palpable. Startlingly revelatory lyrics and instantly memorable melodies invoke nearly every human emotion as songs about truth, love, heartache and hope unfold like the melodic chapters in a musical book. Unabashed and disarming, and with a voice that's at once wounded yet hopeful, Chuck writes songs that draw you in with their rich imagery, and then keep you with their musicality." -- from www.chuckhodges.com I couldn't have said it better myself! "Musicality" has made it into my "word list" for future use. Visit a couple of old friends on Friday night at The City Wine Sellar and lose yourself in the music of Chuck Hodges. Music 7-10 pm; Deli fare served till 9 pm. www.ChuckHodges.com www.myspace.com/chuckhodges (he has over 7600 friends!)
