ECSU Music Department events

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---The ECSU Music Department will hold the following events which are free and open to the public in April:

April 17 at 4:30 p.m., The Jazz Ensemble Spring Concert in the amphitheater outside the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center.

April 19 at 3 p.m., The Symphonic Wind Ensemble Spring Concert in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center.

April 21 at 7 p.m., A senior recital featuring Jenifer Hutson, a clarinetist, will be held in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center.

April 23 at 7 p.m., A senior recital featuring Harry Stokes, a tubist, will be held in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center.

April 26 at 7 p.m., The spring concert for the University Choir featuring Professor Billy Hines, an artist in residence, in his final concert as a full-time professor/choir conductor in the ECSU Music Department. Professor Hines has served the university as an instructor, soloist, and director of the University Choir for 34 years.

April 30 at 7 p.m., A recital featuring Dr. Janine Parnell, violinist/violist. Dr. Parnell is Assistant Professor of Strings/Music Education, and conductor of the ECSU Albemarle Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Parnell will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Darius Milhaud, Astor Piazzolla, and Claude Bolling. The recital will take place in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center.
