Elizabeth City, NC --- Port Discover has added the Experimentation Station to its interactive discovery gallery. Experimentation Station provides visitors with an opportunity to conduct a lab-based inquiry experiment. The experiments will change monthly. They are free and during Port Discover’s normal operating hours.

December’s experiment features Saltwater Circuits. Did you know that you can use saltwater to make a light bulb shine or a bell ring? Explore the science behind electrical currents, while testing saltwater and other solutions to determine if they can serve as conductors. Adult supervision and help will be required.

Port Discover is located at 613 East Main Street, Elizabeth City. Port Discover’s hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Programs can be arranged at other times for special groups. For more information call 252-338-6117 or
