Elizabeth City is no exception, and the River City Community Development Corporation (RCCDC) will host its 8th Annual Juneteenth Celebration Saturday, June 20 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Waterfront Park. A featured part of the celebration is the reading of the "Emancipation Proclamation," followed by speeches, songs and fellowship – along with delicious ethnic foods, craft sales, and children's activities. ...

In addition to its Juneteeth event, Elizabeth City has a number of great ways to celebrate summer ... [read more]
