November 23, 2009

CHARLOTTE, NC- The Elizabeth City State Vikings earned a 54-38 victory over Johnson C. Smith University Monday night at Brayboy Gymnasium.

The Vikings used pressure defense to contest most of JCSU’s looks at the rim, holding the Golden Bulls to just 19 points in each half; 29% from the game. ECSU also forced 25 JCSU miscues resulting in 26 points off turnovers.

The Golden Bulls only lead came after Dante’ Drummer scored the game’s first basket at the 18:28 mark. The Vikings went on to stretch the game, connecting on five 3-pointers in the first half, two apiece by Trent Bivens and Blake Price.
