Day of Caring Projects 2010

Albemarle Area United Way will have it's Annual Day of Caring on Friday, April 9 in Pasquotank/Camden. For Chowan/Perquimans, it will be Saturday, April 10. See below of the non-profits that will be participating with number of volunteers needed to help with the project. This can be a family event.

Day of Caring - Friday, April 9, 2010:

• 7:45 am - 8:15 am Kick Off at Waterfront Park
  ** we will have refreshments and t-shirts to hand out.


• Girls Inc
  • Project: Building and Grounds Spruce Up
  • Power Wash outside of main building, weeding flower beds
  • # of Volunteers needed: 8
  
  
• NCDC
  • Project: Nuestra Casa de La Comunidad Hispana/DBA NCDC
  • Paint exterior building
  • # of Volunteers needed: 3-5


• Girl Scouts
  • Project: Spruce Up Hut
  • Scrape and paint exterior windows, Landscape, fencing (build one)
  • # of Volunteers needed: 4-5

Day of Caring - Saturday, April 10, 2010:

• 9:00 am - 12:00 pm - They will report straight to agency


• Catholic Charities
  • Project: Painting for the Needy
  • Small porch needs some TLC - pressure wash and paint
  • # of Volunteers needed: 2-3


• Chowan-Perquimans Habitat for Humanity
  • Project: Work in their Habitat Store
  • Stocking the store and arrange items on display that are currently in the store
  • # of Volunteers needed: 3-4 (no more than 4)


• Boys & Girls Club of Edenton
  • Project: Need to paint their boardroom
  • # of Volunteers: 4-5
