ECSU holds “Adapting to Global Recovery: Strategies for Resource Building” Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- The Elizabeth City State University Office of Sponsored Programs, Contracts and Grants will hold a two-day conference, symposium and recognition ceremony, “Adapting to Global Recovery: Strategies for Resource Building,“ September 30 and October 1 at the K. E. White Graduate and Continuing Education Center.

Conference speakers are Dr. Cora B. Marrett, acting director of the National Science Foundation, and Mr. Willis S. Jenkins, Jr., senior program executive in the Heliophysics Division of NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. Dr. Marrett will deliver the keynote address.

The purpose of the conference is to identify potential relationships with individuals in higher education, education, non-profit organizations, churches, foundations, businesses, political offices, and governmental agencies to facilitate the development of productive partnerships. Professional development in grant writing will be a highlight of this conference. The novice and the experienced grant writer will further enhance their knowledge, techniques and skills. Participants will also become more aware of post award concerns such as best practices in grant management for both non-financial and financial areas, and compliance concerns such as Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR).

Registration fees range from $50 to $250.

For more information about the conference and to determine your exact registration fee, call Ms. Linda Neal, (252) 335-3120.
