March 2011: Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Business Expo

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! EXPO 2011 IS COMING SOON!

The Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce and The College of The Albemarle Small Business Center are excited to present the 20th Annual Business Expo on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at K.E. White Center on the Elizabeth City State University Campus. This year's theme, "Flashback!" focuses on the Chamber’s 100th Birthday! This Centennial celebration will be a step back in time and a review of our historical past in the region. Expo offers our exhibitors the unique opportunity to demonstrate and sell their products and services directly to the public. Expo is being generously sponsored by our Centennial Sponsor Hall Automotive, our Platinum Sponsor CenturyLink, and our Gold Sponsors A.R. Chesson Construction Company, Inc., Albemarle Health and The Daily Advance, who is also celebrating their 100th birthday!

There will be numerous attractions from 10:00 am - 3:30 pm so the public can attend Expo all day or on their lunch hour for only $1 since Famous Franks will be selling their delicious hot dogs and sausages. Guests will also get to sample treats made right before their eyes by Chef Andy Montero of Montero's Restaurant and learn about cooking with wine by Debbie Malenfant of The City Wine Sellar. Serenity Studio Arts will teach you how to make special creations with clay while Liza Franco Photography & Graphic Design will teach you the secrets to perfect picture taking!

The Chamber is proud to host over 70 attractions and has sold out of their booths in record time. In addition to the booths, there will be numerous activities and demonstrations to encourage the public to attend Expo to support our local businesses. There will be health screenings from Albemarle Health, Albemarle Audiology, and new for this year, Oral Examinations by Dr. Karen Wuertz, DDS, PS. There will be an SPCA Adopt-A-Thon, a live radio broadcast from Beach 104, makeovers by Rita LeBlanc and a great Zumba demonstration by Josh Vela of Elizabeth City Adventure Boot Camp!

In the evening, the K. E. White Center at ECSU will convert to the official Expo Chef Challenge! Attendees will get to sample delectable foods and desserts from several of our Chamber members. Chef Andy Montero is overseeing this intense competition and the winner will be judged by the attendees that sample the various foods. This "After Expo" event is a $25 ticketed event from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Guests will also get to enjoy music spun by DJ Taz-2 Productions and be entered into numerous drawings for prizes donated from the booth vendors. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office or by VISA/MasterCard online at www.elizabethcitychamber.org.

We encourage everyone to come see all the latest products and services our area has to offer and partake in these exciting events! Fun! Food! Giveaways! Music! Prizes! And Much More!
