Newson explores “The Era of Ragtime” on March 29 at ECSU
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE--The Music Department at Elizabeth City State University presents Dr. Roosevelt Newson, ECSU’s first Spangler Endowed Professor and the chairperson of the Music Department, at 7:00 pm. Tuesday, March 29 for a lecture and a recital in the auditorium of the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center.

This lecture and recital will include performances by Dr. Gloria Knight, Dr. Mary Hellman and the ECSU Brass Ensemble. Dr. Newson’s topic is “The Era of Ragtime.” The lecture and recital is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the ECSU Music Department, 252-335-3359.
