March 2011: Perquimans County Wagon Train

Don’t miss the Perquimans County Wagon Train coming your way March 17-20. Join us as wagon roll though Herford, Beech Springs, Belvidere, Bagley Swamp, and Winfall, NC. This unique event commemorates a significant historical Perquimans County event which happened around 1800. Adults and kids alike will be delighted to learn about local heritage by joining the activities on Friday and Saturday from 3:30 pm - 11:00 pm at either the Belvidere campsite near Layden's store or the Historic Newbold-White house camp located in Hertford. Celebrations at both locations are FREE and include live music, vendors, historic tours and demos, Draft horse pulling competitions, live DJ, dancing, drawings for charity and much, much more. Supper and lunch plates will be on sale and provided by the Belvidere Volunteer Fire Department, Bear Swamp Ruritains, Parksville Ruritains and the Perquimans Restoration Association.

For parade times, route maps and event schedule go to www.newboldwhitehouse.com or call 252-330-4439. Equestrian participants please see website for participation forms.
