Museum of the Albemarle proudly presents...Singer/Songwriter Robbin Thompson along with Diamond Hart in Concert April 6, 2013

Singer/songwriter and recording artist, Robbin Thompson will take the stage in the Gaither Auditorium on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Museum of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City. Opening for Thompson will be the band "Diamond Hart" featuring an extremely talented group of musicians (Michael Thompson, Tommy Hartley, Martin Parker and Dr. Steve Raisor) playing music such as Bluegrass, Blues,Americana, and Jazz Standards in a dual finger style guitar format.

Robbin Thompson’s musical career spans over 40 years and continues. Among other musical accomplishments, he performed as lead singer in the Bruce Springsteen band, Steel Mill. He has won the American Song Festival twice and has recorded more than a dozen albums. Thompson, along with friend Steve Bassett, authored the song "Sweet Virginia Breeze," which is considered by many to be the unofficial state song of Virginia. He has also written and recorded songs with Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit (who also sings harmonies on many of Robbins’ recordings).

The ticketed show begins at 7:00 PM with tickets available in advance at $15 for FOMOA Members or $20 for Nonmembers. Tickets at the door (if available) will be $25 regardless of membership. Seating is limited to 200 so the Museum encourages folks to purchase their tickets early to be guaranteed entrance. To reserve a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Row Seat, add $10 per ticket (LIMITED SEATING); for a 4th or 5th Row Seat, add $5 per ticket (LIMITED SEATING). All other seats in the remaining rows will be at the regular cost.

Tickets for the event are available and on sale NOW at the Museum of the Albemarle. This is sure to be a sell-out, so reserve your seats today. Payment can be made only by cash, check or money order payable to FOMOA. Drop by the Museum of the Albemarle, 501 South Water Street, Elizabeth City to purchase your tickets.

Performances begin at 7:00 pm and continue until 9:15 pm. Ticket holders are invited to come early beginning at 6 pm for a tour of the Museum’s galleries, enjoy a beverage from the Cash Bar, and to begin seating within the Gaither Auditorium. Diamond Hart will open for Thompson beginning at 7:00 pm and continue until 7:45 pm. There will be a brief intermission at 7:45 pm before Thompson begins his 8:00 pm show. His performance will continue until about 9:15 pm. After that, Thompson will be available to his fans for autographs and CD sales.
