Please help us to promote this exciting FREE USO of NC live
concert event!
The Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce this year’s exciting USO of North Carolina concert, which is featured as part of our annual Coast Guard Week. This event is the perfect tie in with the First Friday Art Walk, which is also free and open to the public and is the same evening in downtown Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Headliner and rising country star Ansel Brown will
grace the big stage as he performs his patriotic anthem to our local military
men and women: “Our Country”.
This USO of North Carolina concert is being generously co-sponsored by several local
businesses to support
our men and women in uniform. North Carolina is both
the birthplace of the first base-centric USO and the longest running USO center
in the world.
The FREE outdoor concert will take place on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Waterfront Park in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Waterfront Park is the perfect venue for this live concert and is located directly across the street from Museum of the Albemarle on Water Street.

We are also pleased to have our opening act southern rock band Outlaw
21 from the foothills of North
Carolina. This
great band had the honor of playing at the 2012 Rolling Thunder event in
Washington DC that honors American Veterans and
featured Gary Senise’s band, Lt. Dan Band.
This concert is part of the Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce's annual Coast Guard Week which offers numerous activities and events as a "thank you" to our local Coast Guard and their families.

this event and guests will learn of the many ways that they can volunteer the
USO of North Carolina.
Coast Guard week will be held the week of July 29- August 3,
2013. These bands which are southern rock and country style both have
strong military based themes which tie in perfectly to honor our Coast Guard
and all military branches. See Ansel
Brown’s website at www.anselbrown.com for
details. You can also find both bands on Facebook.
The concert will offer food and beverages for cash purchase along
with a beer garden sponsored by City Beverage. We encourage all families
to join us for this unique and special event.
This is our third year featuring the USO of North Carolina
concerts. Last year we featured 80’s
rocker John Parr and in 2011 we hosted upcoming Nashville Star Ashton Shepherd, which was the
original kick off to the USO of North Carolina concert series. Both
concerts were a huge success and
very well-received by thousands in the community.
