August 2013: Two new administrators join ECSU

Two new administrators join ECSU

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE---Elizabeth City State University announces two new administrators—a new chief information officer and a new director of the university’s financial aid office.

Ronald G. Scott is the new chief information officer (CIO). He recently served as the director of Information Services at York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  For over 12 years, he served as the corporate director of Information Services at Wellman, Inc., a chemical manufacturing company.  He brings other significant experience in the areas of Team Building & Leadership Development; Strategic & Tactical Planning; Cost Controls; Change Management; Information Technology Auditing; Technology Integration and Software Implementation; Enterprise Resource Planning strategies; and Infrastructure Architecture.  Scott is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt recipient--a certification which identifies recipients as specialists in analyzing the efficiencies of business and operations processes. 

Scott earned a master’s degree in engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans, La. (1983), and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in computer science from Central Michigan University, in Mount Pleasant, Mich. (1973)

Tracie Hunter is the university’s new director of financial aid.  Hunter comes to ECSU from Marymount College in Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif., where she served as assistant vice president of Enrollment and the director of Financial Aid.  Hunter’s previous experience in financial aid includes her roles as director of Financial Aid for the following institutions: California State University Channel Islands, Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, and Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, Calif.  Hunter is a member of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA), the American Association of College Registrars and Admission Officers (AACRAO), and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).  

Hunter earned a master’s degree in public administration from California State University/Fullerton (2004) and a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Occidental College in Eagle Rock, Calif. (1996)
