October 2013: MOA presents, “Gone with the Glory: The Civil War in Cinema”



Mr. Wills will present a lecture and book signing on his book “Gone with the Glory:  The Civil War in Cinema”.  His lecture and book signing will complement the exhibit Real to Reel:  The Making of Gone with the Wind, which is scheduled to close on Tuesday, December 31, 2013.  The exhibit showcases authentic memorabilia - costumes, screen tests, scene props, a script, Vivien Leigh’s Academy Award, and many other items from the James Tumblin Collection.  Exhibit admission is required to visit Real to Reel:  The Making of Gone with the Wind.


Brian Steel Wills, a native Virginian, is the director of the Center for the Study of the Civil War Era at Kennesaw State University. He is also the author of The Confederacy's Greatest Cavalryman: Nathan Bedford Forrest, The War Hits Home: The Civil War in Southeastern Virginia, and No Ordinary College: A History of the University of Virginia at Wise.
