History Plays Big Role in Elizabeth City's February Event Line-up

(Elizabeth City, NC, Jan. 13, 2009) – Just a few weeks following America's Presidential Inauguration, Edith P. Mayor, curator emeritus in political history of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, will discuss "Presidential Families" at a Feb. 5 lecture in Elizabeth City.

The talk, plus offerings that include everything from a theatrical presentation about the life of famed freedom-seeker Harriet Tubman to a "Civil War Living History Day," reveal that history is a recurring subject in Elizabeth City’s lineup of February events. [read more]
