"Lighthouses of the Sound"

(Elizabeth City, NC) Alex Leary of Camden County will present "Lighthouses of the Sound" at the Museum of the Albemarle on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Gaither Auditorium as part of the Albemarle Roundtable. Mr. Leary will speak on the North River Screw Pile Lighthouse and the Wade’s Point Lighthouse. He will discuss the likenesses and differences of the two lighthouses and what life would have been like for the Lighthouse Keeper and his family through a PowerPoint and a model of the Wade’s Point Lighthouse.

The Museum of the Albemarle is located at 501 South Water Street, Elizabeth City, NC. (252)335-1453. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Sunday, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Closed Mondays and State Holidays. Serving Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell, and Washington counties, the museum is the northeast regional history museum of the North Carolina Division of State History Museums.
