Hey Veterans Supporters

Come on out this Saturday to Applebee’s in Elizabeth City for our Pancake & Sausage Breakfast Fundraiser!

Proceeds go to the Veterans Family Resource Center of the Albemarle to help fund our various programs and services for veterans and their families, which in turn, helps everyone in our community.

Many people are unaware of the many programs available to veterans, disabled veterans, their families and their widows. These include disability pension, education and job training, home loan programs, entrepreneurship opportunities, medical care, transition assistance, long-term care, burial benefits, and many more.

Due to the economy and lack of funding, we’ve had to close our center on Ehringhaus, but we’re still going strong and hope to open a new center in just a few months. As a non-profit charitable organization, our all-volunteer staff has made a difference to over 480 veterans and their families since we started in June 2008. We’ve learned a lot about our veterans and our community during the past year, and we have big plans for the future. We are planning our new center to include a classroom/conference room, computer lab and inter-agency projects, including a new focus on Veterans Education and Job Assistance (VEJA Program) to better serve our vets and our community.

We know everyone is busy these days, but please plan on starting your day out this Saturday by joining us at Applebee’s for a delicious Pancake and Sausage Breakfast from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Grab a chance to win a beautiful American Flag afghan, hand-crocheted by the wife of one of our own disabled veteran client, which will be awarded this Veterans Day! Tickets for a 50-50 Raffle will also be available with the winning ticket pulled during the Breakfast this Saturday. Can’t stay for breakfast? Take-out platters are also available for the same price!

Tickets are only $5.00 each and can be purchased at the door, by calling us at 252-337-9765, or at the following locations:
  • Long & Foster Real Estate, 1100 W. Ehringhaus St., Elizabeth City

  • Pride in NC, 905 Halstead Blvd. Suite 20, in Winchester Station, Elizabeth City

  • Itza Boutza Pizza, 104-A Investors Way, in the Camden Business Park

Can’t make it this Saturday? You can always show your support! As a 501(c)3 public charity, your donation is tax-free and can be dropped off at any of the above ticket locations, or mailed to:

Veterans Family Resource Center of the Albemarle

100 Holland Drive

Your can also show your support by printing out and posting the attached flier, or emailing it to everyone in your address book.

We know that each and every one of you support our community and our veterans. We appreciate each small step we are able to take because of your support! Because of you, we are able to improve the lives of those who put their lives on the line to protect these great United States of America.

Thank You in advance for all you do.
