Toddler Time: Mix-It-Up
Thursday, October 15, 10:00 am
Take a look at the states of matter. Discover liquids, solids, solutions and mixtures. Children will learn why measurements are important in science and put these skills into practice as they make their own bath salts to take home. Cost for the program is $5 per family and reservations are required. Parents or guardians must accompany the child.

Earth Sciences Day
Thursday, October 15, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Port Discover marks Earth Sciences Week with a visit by Dr. Thomas Rossbach, professor of geology at Elizabeth City State University. Dr. Rossbach will be at Port Discover at 3:30 to identify geological specimens and to answer your questions. No reservations required.

Downtown Elizabeth City Fall Festival
Saturday, October 24, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Visit downtown Elizabeth City on October 24 for a festival of fun! The fair will take place on the corner of Water and Main Street ... right across from Port Discover. Sponsored by the Downtown Business and Professional Association.

Make-It-Take-Its: Jack-O-Liters
All month!
Learn about the tools of science and the metric system. And, with pumpkins just around the corner, make your own jack-o-lantern while learning what makes a cube. The activity is free and available when then Center is open.
