LADY VIKINGS DEFEAT LIVINGSTONE 62-58

ECSU Rallies from Double Digit Second Half Deficit; Remain Undefeated on the Road

SALISBURY, NC- Briana Glover’s layup with 15 seconds remaining proved to be the go ahead score as the Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings rallied past Livingstone College 62-58 Saturday night at New Trent Gymnasium.

ECSU trailed by a much as 15 in the second half but a 3-pointer by Courtney Scott with 4:17 remaining gave the Lady Vikings a 56-54 lead, their first since prior to the intermission. The Lady Blue Bears hit only two field goals in the game’s final six minutes. The Lady Vikings out-rebounded Livingstone 47-30 and scored 16 second chance points.

The Lady Viking bench outscored the Lady Blue Bear reserves 44-8 behind career highs from both Tiffany Gadsden (18) and Shaquella Johnson (15). Kenyatta Gill poured in 13 points and Glover grabbed a career high 10 rebounds.

Kayler McBride led all scorers with 19 points for the Lady Blue Bears who fall to 2-1 on the young season.
