"Discover EC" Advertising and Marketing Co-Op Program Marks Successful First Year

(Elizabeth City, NC, June 16, 2009) – The first year of the "Discover EC" Advertising and Marketing Co-Op Program generated exceptional exposure for the region, reaching approximately 6 million people through a comprehensive marketing and advertising campaign, according to the Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (ECACVB).

Bobby will be joined by friends Lindsay Stevenson and Van Johnson to perform songs from his CD

Elizabeth City Launches New "Cruise the Carolina Loop" Boaters' Guide

(Elizabeth City, NC, June 10, 2009) – Now recreational boaters can travel along a scenic "loop" that connects waterways between Elizabeth City, NC, and Norfolk, VA with the help of a handy, new travel guide.

The Elizabeth City Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (ECACVB), in cooperation with the Dismal Swamp Canal Welcome Center and the Currituck County Department of Travel and Tourism, has published a "Cruise the Carolina Loop" boaters' guide that outlines a regional, self-guided tour along the Intracoastal Waterway, as well as details of navigable miles, lock and bridge opening schedules, restaurants and visitor sites located en route.

"Market Impossible Throw Down!" Chefs Andy Montero and Andy Lewis to Face Off, June 27, for Live Cooking Event

(Elizabeth City, NC, June 11, 2009) – Does cooking dinner have you in a race against the clock? Andy Montero and Andy Lewis will soon relate. The Elizabeth City chefs will have one hour to shop for and prepare a gourmet meal before a live audience when the Downtown Waterfront Market hosts a "Market Impossible Throw Down!" June 27 at 10:00 am in Elizabeth City.

Provided with a few choice cooking staples and a "mystery" protein, the chefs will have 10 minutes to scour the market for fresh produce and goods, then 50 minutes to whip up an inspired entrée and some sides. A panel of judges will decide the winner. [read more]

The Albemarle Chorale's 2009 - 2010 Events
