POWELL VOTED HSRN DIVISION II NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Fan Poll Selects ECSU Signal Caller as Last Week’s Top Performer

HARTLY, DE - Elizabeth City State University quarterback Creven Powell has been voted as the HSRN Division II National Player of the Week.

The top performances each week are selected and the fans across the country vote for who they think had the best game. Powell was picked from a slate of four players including two from CIAA member schools; Walter Sanders (running back) of Saint Augustine’s College and Aris McGlone-English (quarterback) from Virginia Union University.

In the Vikings’ 38-26 win over Fayetteville State University at the Down East Viking Football Classic, Powell completed 16 of 33 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 18 yards, finishing the day with 277 yards of total offense.
