Check Out Some Awesome Science at Port Discover’s Winter Break-Out Camp, December 28th

Elizabeth City, NC --- Port Discover offers a morning of fitness-building and brain-expanding exploration during the Winter Break-Out Science Camp. The camp is scheduled for Tuesday, December 28 from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm (noon), for children ages 8 to 11.

Children will engage in a wide-range of science activities. From forensics and health science to Zumba and tower building, it will be an action-packed morning of science fun.

Cost is $25.00 per camper ($22.50 for members). Registration includes a morning snack. Space is limited, so register early. Contact Port Discover at 252-338-6117 or portdiscover@portdiscover.org. Winter Break-Out Camp health programs are part of the Kinetic Kids Port Discover program made possible by University Health Systems Foundation and Albemarle Hospital Foundation.

Port Discover is located at 611 East Main Street, Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Port Discover’s hours are Tuesday through Friday, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Port Discover is a community-based, non-profit organization, established to enhance the public’s understanding and enjoyment of science through engaging programs, activities, and exhibits. Elizabeth City State University along with the Elizabeth City Area Chamber of Commerce initiated the project that has attracted broad community support, including Elizabeth City Morning Rotary, College of the Albemarle, Albemarle Hospital, Museum of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools. Port Discover is also a member of the NC Grassroots Science Museum Collaborative.
