Wolfpack Controls Paint, Rebounding in Win Over ECSU

RALEIGH, NC - Bonae Holston tallied a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds as the N.C. State Wolfpack defeated Elizabeth City State University 80-50 in exhibition action Sunday afternoon at Reynolds Coliseum.
N.C. State broke the game open early, jumping out to an 18-4 lead with 15:46 to go in the first half. ECSU fought back with a 9-2 run to pull within five (18-13) at the 13:16 mark. Then a three-pointer by Kenyatta Gill with 9:54 to go before the break trimmed the lead to 20-16 but NCSU responded with a 20-5 run for a 40-26 halftime lead.
The Wolfpack was able to maintain a comfortable lead throughout the second half by controlling the glass. NC State held a 56-37 edge for the game, with 14 offensive boards leading to 17 second chance points in the second half alone.
DaShera Boone led three Lady Vikings in double figures with a team high 13 points.
