GRIFFIN TO PLAY IN DIXIE GRIDIRON CLASSIC

ECSU Defensive Lineman One of Three CIAA Schools Represented at Inaugural Bowl in Utah

ST. GEORGE, UT - Elizabeth City State University football player Terry Griffin has been chosen to play in the Inaugural Dixie Gridiron Classic on February 5, 2011.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 pm (noon) at Desert Hills High School in St. George, UT.

The Hobgood, NC native was the Vikings’ second leading tackler during his senior campaign in an ECSU uniform. He finished the 2010 season with 48 total tackles (25 solo, 23 assisted).

The game's objective is to provide the best quality graduating seniors a chance to showcase their talents in front of professional scouts to prolong their football playing careers.

Griffin will be one of five CIAA student-athletes participating in the Dixie Gridiron Classic. Others include Walter Sanders and Justin Wells from Saint Augustine’s and Derrick McPhearson and Terence Peete of Bowie State. They will be playing against some of the top talent in the country in front of pro scouts. Most of the players selected are Division I graduating seniors in the bowl and championship subdivisions.
