ECSU Senior Guard Scored Career High 33 Points Last Week vs. Benedict

HAMPTON, VA - Elizabeth City State University’s Angelo Sharpless has been named CIAA’s top men’s basketball player for the second straight week.
The Plymouth, NC native posted his third double-double of the season with 10 rebounds and a career best 33 points in the Vikings’ 68-62 overtime loss at Benedict College last Monday. In the game, he scored 21 points in the second half and hit a jumper in the final seconds of regulation to send the contest to an extra session.
In the CIAA, Sharpless ranks third in scoring at 24.0 points per game and second in rebounding at 8.9 per outing. He also is fifth in field goal percentage and second in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage.
His scoring average is sixth overall in NCAA Division II.
The Vikings (5-2) will return to action on Wednesday versus Washington Adventist University. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm in Takoma Park, MD.
