State Employees Credit Union Foundation Offers Continuing Education Scholarship – Apply Now!

The State Employees Credit Union Foundation is offering a Continuing Education scholarship to North Carolina residents. Students must be enrolled in a short-term training program that leads to a state-regulated or industry-recognized credential.

The SECU established the Continuing Education scholarship program to aid students to learn or update career-related skills. The SECU and the NC Community College System (including COA) joined efforts to provide the scholarship, helping the state and northeast region’s citizens with career and job training. The program will help produce and sustain a high quality workforce for North Carolina.

The maximum scholarship award is $750. Funds may be used to either pay or reimburse students for registration fees, books, certification, and course supplies.

To receive these funds, students must demonstrate satisfactory progress towards course completion. Satisfactory progress is defined as: satisfactory completion of a prior course, satisfactory course completion, or instructor-recommendation after completing at least half of the required coursework.

The priority application deadline is September 16, 2013. Apply now!

Complete the application and return to the Workforce Development & Continuing Education Department at any COA location. Questions? Call (252) 335-0821 x 2250
