Science Fair 101 Help Sessions Begin Thursday, January 8, at Port Discover
Elizabeth City, NC — Port Discover science educators and local scientists and will be at Port Discover for Science Fair 101 Help Sessions beginning Thursday, January 8 and continuing each Thursday afternoon through January 29. The help sessions will offer students one-on-one assistance with science fair projects and are scheduled for 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Students are encouraged to call ahead and schedule an appointment. Walk-ins also welcome and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Science Fair 101" Help Sessions were initiated by Dr. Maille Lyons, postdoctoral research scientist at Old Dominion University. Fran MacDonald, Director of Science Education at Port Discover, and Marcella Kappesser, Port Discover Science Educator, presented the Science Fair 101 program to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders in November. The January Science Fair 101 Help Sessions will continue Port Discover’s commitment to assist with science education. Science Fair 101 Help Sessions are free, but donations are appreciated. Port Discover is a community-based, non-profit organization, established to enhance the public’s understanding and enjoyment of science through engaging programs, activities, and exhibits. Port Discover is also a member of the NC Grassroots Science Museum Collaborative.
