ECSU Matches Last Year’s Win Total with Road Victory Over The Shock

TAKOMA PARK, MD - Shaquella Johnson scored 15 points and Joyce Freeman added 14 points as Elizabeth City State cruised past Washington Adventist University 61-38 Thursday evening at The Pitt.
The Lady Vikings pick up their sixth win of the season, which totaled their entire win total from the 2008-2009 season.
ECSU held the winless shock (0-11) to just 15 field goals the entire game, 8 of which came in the first half. The Lady Vikings capitalized on the Shock’s poor shooting percentage and converted that into a 36-18 halftime advantage. ECSU continued to dominate in the second half, leading by as many as 25 points in the closing minutes. The Lady Vikings held a 46-31 rebounding edge and scored 33 points off 29 Shock miscues.
Erin Duffie and Margaret Douglas scored 11 apiece for WAU.
