VOLUNTEER AT THE
Museum
of the Albemarle
Discover the rewards of sharing North Carolina
Albemarle region’s history with others. As a volunteer docent at the Museum
of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City,
you can meet people from around the world and learn more about northeastern North Carolina. If you
are interested in becoming a museum volunteer, contact Charlotte Patterson,
education coordinator, at 252-331-4032 or charlotte.patterson@ncdcr.gov to set up an
interview.
A series of training
classes continues on Wednesday,
September 18 at 3 p.m., and take place every Wednesday through October.
During training classes, participants learn about
interpreting touch items on exhibit Artifact Carts, leading exhibit tours for
children and adults, and more. Share information about exhibits that include Our Story, Under Both Flags: Civil War in the Albemarle, and many other changing
galleries. Docents enjoy benefits
such as field trips to historic sites, an annual appreciation luncheon, and
lectures by guest speakers. To learn more about the benefits of becoming a
