
Turnovers, Poor Shooting Plague Lady Vikings in Divisional Opener

BOWIE. MD - The Bowie State University Lady Bulldogs handed Elizabeth City State University a 72-46 loss Thursday evening at A.C. Jordan Arena.
Shaquella Johnson was the lone Lady Vikings in double figures with 11 points.
The Lady Bulldogs led from the opening tip in route an early 1-0 lead in the Eastern Division opener for both teams. ECSU committed a season high 28 turnovers which resulted in 35 points for Bowie State. ECSU was also outscored 44-14 in the paint and their shooting percentage from the field (31.0%) was their second lowest output of the season.
Teaunsha Robinson led all scorers with 19 points as Bowie State improves to 11-4 overall and 11-2 in the CIAA.
The Lady Vikings (12-6, CIAA 7-6) will return home to host Virginia Union University on Saturday, January 30th. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30pm at the RL Vaughan Center. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
