Goldsmith Repeats as CIAA’s Top Newcomer

HAMPTON, VA - Two members of the Elizabeth City State University men’s basketball team have been named CIAA Players of the Week as announced by the CIAA Office Monday morning.
Freshman guard Angelo Sharpless has been named CIAA Rookie of the Week. Sharpless scored in double figures in both of the Vikings’ games last week and in the win over Johnson C. Smith on Saturday he came off the bench to tally game highs of 18 points and 11 rebounds. Against Chowan last Monday he fell one rebound shy of a double-double with 9 boards to go along with 10 points.
For the second straight week sophomore forward Paul Goldsmith has been named CIAA Newcomer of the Week. Goldsmith contributed 14 points apiece against both Chowan and Johnson C. Smith.
