ELIZABETH CITY, NC - Freshman guard Angelo Sharpless scored a season high 22 points and a game high 10 rebounds as Elizabeth City State University toppled Lincoln University of Pennsylvania 95-74 Wednesday night at the RL Vaughan Center.

The win halts a two game losing skid where the Vikings saw their last two setbacks come by three points each.

Four other Vikings finished in double figures as ECSU scored 60 points in the second half alone. Trent Bivens netted 17 points while Paul Goldsmith and B.J. Williams added 14 and 10 points, respectively. Marquie Cooke finished with 17 points and a game high 7 assists.

The Vikings shot a blistering (season high) 51% from the field while simultaneously holding the Lions (2-13) to 24-67 shooting from the floor. After leading 35-27 at the break, ECSU used a 14-5 run at the start of the second half, expanding their lead to 19 points (51-32). The Lions slowly shipped at the lead and with 9:15 remaining a three-pointer by Dante Blanton-Holcombe brought LU to within 9. However ECSU reeled off 8 unanswered points to push the lead back to double digit for the rest of the game.

Damian Hyman led all scorers with 25 points off the bench.

ECSU (9-7) will return to action when they host Chowan University on Saturday at 7:30pm at the RL Vaughan Center. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 pm. For more information ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com
