National Women’s History Month
March 15-19, 2010
Visiting groups wishing to observe National Women’s History Month may now see at the ECSU Planetarium any of the following video presentations during the week of March 15-19, 2010: Women in Science, Equality: A History of the Women’s Movement in America, There’s No Such Thing as Woman’s Work, A Fine and Long Tradition, Helen Keller (animated), Florence Nightingale (animated), Harriet Tubman (animated), Joan of Arc (animated), Marie Curie (animated), and Mary McLeod Bethune. Visitors may also choose our ever popular LIVE night sky demonstration as well as a laser show featuring women performers. All shows are FREE and by RESERVATION ONLY. Groups wishing to schedule must have a minimum of 20 per group. Groups less than 20, however, are welcome to join groups already scheduled. To reserve your seating, call (252) 335-3759.
For groups or individuals unable to attend during regular day time hours, an open house event will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A detailed schedule for this event is provided below. Minimum numbers are NOT required for open house events. However, reservations are still required. With the exception of university closings, the ECSU Planetarium is open year-round to the public. The Planetarium operates during regular business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. A limited number of evening and shows are offered during special occasions (e.g, Feature Presentations, University Open House, etc.). The Planetarium is located in the Jimmy R.
