Johnson C. Smith Remains Unbeaten, Improves to 9-0 Overall

ELIZABETH CITY, NC - The Johnson C. Smith University Lady Golden Bulls remained perfect on the season with a 60-52 win over Elizabeth City State University Saturday evening at the RL Vaughan Center.
JCSU improves to 9-0 overall with a 3-0 mark in the CIAA.
Defense was key for the Lady Golden Bulls in Saturday’s win, holding the Lady Vikings to just 27% shooting as they connected on a season low 17 baskets from the floor. On offense the Lady Golden Bulls were only 18-56 from the field but went to the free throw line 32 times, connecting on 23 shots.
JCSU led by as many as 14 in the second half after holding a 30-23 advantage at the break. They also outscored the Lady Vikings 10-0 in fast break points and behind a game high 18 points by reserve guard Shavonda Price outpaced the ECSU 35-14.
Tiffany Gadsden scored a team high 14 points for the Lady Vikings.
