Lady Vikings Picked To Finish Fifth in the CIAA Eastern Division Race

CHARLOTTE, NC - The CIAA Women’s Pre-Season Team and Predicted Order of Finish were announced at the Annual Basketball Press Conference Thursday morning at the Charlotte Convention Center.
Bowie State University, who finished atop the CIAA East last season, has been voted by the coaches to repeat as divisional champions. Virginia State, Saint Paul’s, Virginia Union and Elizabeth City State University round out the CIAA Eastern Division. The Lady Vikings finished 6-22 overall last season.
The Western Division picks begin with the defending CIAA Champions Johnson C. Smith followed with a tie for second between Shaw and Fayetteville State with St. Augustine’s, Livingstone and Chowan rounding out the West.
The Lady Vikings will open up the 2009-2010 season on the road at Mount Olive College on November 15 in Mount Olive, NC. For more information on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
