COOKE NAMED TO ALL-CIAA MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM
Sophomore Guard Ranks if Five CIAA Categories

HAMPTON, VA – Elizabeth City State’s sophomore guard Marquie Cooke has been named to the 2010 All-CIAA Men’s basketball team as voted on by the CIAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Association.

Cooke, who hails from Suffolk, VA, has been a catalyst for the Vikings this season. He ranks third in scoring at 11.8 per game while leading ECSU in assists, steals and free throw percentage. He has twice been named CIAA Newcomer of the Week and in the conference ranks 21st in scoring, second in assists, 14th in free throw percentage and first in assist/turnover ratio. He is also tied for first in steals at 2.1 per outing.

Cooke has registered double figures in 16 games this season and was the Vikings’ leading scorer on six different occasions. The All-CIAA Teams will be honored at the CIAA Tournament tip off luncheon on Tuesday in Charlotte, NC.
